With several big winter snow blasts and cold temperatures permitting round-the-clock snowmaking, Angel Fire Resort kicks off its season on December 15. The Chile Express will carry skiers and riders to the top of the mountain where they can kick-start the season on Hallelujah and Highway runs. "I just want to get up there and start shredding it up," said Fisher, a snowboarder and assistant manager in the resort's ticket office. "I gotta start working on my 540s and 720s and getting ready to hit new features in the terrain park when it's up." While the official opening is Saturday, the ski hill opens Friday for its annual benefit day for the Moreno Valley Youth Athletic League. With luck, Fisher may get a chance to ride his board…that is, if he can sneak out for a run during lunch.
