"This has to be some kind of record for the Okanagan," says local merchant Jamie Groot. "If this keeps up the mountain is going to have to hire staff for the season pretty quick because I want to make some turns" Silver Star has its annual hiring fair scheduled for Oct. 22 and a tentative opening date of Nov. 3 for the Nordic area and Nov. 22 for the Alpine.
