Saas Fee and Zermatt Glisten

Resorts in this article: Saas Fee, Zermatt

Things have improved dramatically since the weekend of Dec. 9th/10th with temperatures hovering around zero allowing for some snowmaking in most resorts on top of the natural falls. Many resorts that have delayed opening up to now are opening over the next 24 hours, although most have fairly limited terrain available. High elevation Swiss resorts are reporting the best snow depths, with the glacier ski areas above Gstaad, Zermatt and Saas Fee reporting best snow depth in excess of 150cm (five feet) at the top. The latter two resorts are neighbours and have launched a reciprocal lift ticket for the first time this winter. Tickets valid six days or longer include a day's skiing in the other resort.
