Grand Targhee was scheduled to open Friday, Nov. 16, but snows slowly crawled up the inch marks during the week prior. Resort officials postponed the opening in favor of waiting for more snow.
Meanwhile, Targhee upgraded its cat skiing program on Peaked Mountain. The resort added ten new trails off the summit and new interior glades — a 1,900-foot vertical drop through old growth Douglas fir and whitebark pine. The new runs will be named at a future date. One of the outer trails clings to the southeast ridge unfolding spectacular views of the Tetons with every turn.
