Guns are running at A-Basin from the top of the Exhibition chairlift at midway to the base area. They'll keep blasting on the High Noon run as long as conditions are optimal.
Loveland's 25 snow guns started at about 6 p.m. Monday night and ran all night long. Apparently it was an excellent night of snowmaking with consistent temperatures in the teens and low humidity. Loveland hopes to have the slopes open mid-to-late October.
A-Basin was the first ski area to open in the nation last season Oct. 13. Ski area officials plan to open sometime between mid-to-late October as well.
