Mohawk operators project opening the weekend after Thanksgiving. Skiers interested in becoming members of Mohawk Mountain's ski school should click on the "Lessons" button on the area's Web page, and then "Want to Join the Staff" at the bottom of the lessons page. Instructor training will take place the first two weekends in December. Midweek day passes and midweek night passes are $199 until Sept. 30, when the price goes up. This historic Berkshire area was created by skiing legend Walt Schoenknecht in 1947, and operates in Mohawk State Park in partnership with the State of Connecticut.
