The snow wizards with the white-flowin' guns have been darn giddy watching temperatures drop. Steven Crowley, mountain ops chief, said: "The crew is looking forward to some windows of opportunity with 'wet bulb' temperatures of 24 or below." Those puppies shoot out enough machine-made powder to cover 2.5 acres of runs with a foot of snow - in an hour. That's two feet in two hours! Three feet in four hours! Holiday Valley is spreading that powder over a handful of trails, including Yodeler, Mardi Gras, Candy Cane, Punch Bowl and School Haus. Gee, that new mountaintop reservoir of theirs, Spruce Lake, sure helps.
