Eating Hearty In North Lake Tahoe

That annual indulgence to gastronomic adventure known as the Lake Tahoe Autumn Food and Wine Festival takes places for the 22nd time from Sept. 13-16 in and around the North Lake Tahoe-Truckee area, but mostly at Northstar resort. Highlights include the Gar Woods Grape Stomp and Lakeside Luncheon in Carnelian Bay on Thursday afternoon ($55 per person); a jazz concert ($30) and Moonlight Martini reception ($30) at Northstar Village on Friday evening; cooking seminars, demos, and tastings all day Saturday at Northstar Village ($45); winery dinners and special tasting events at various Truckee-North Lake restaurants on Saturday evening; and the Grand Tasting and Culinary Competition at Northstar Village on Sunday afternoon ($70).
