Some good news: Crystal will be open 9am-9pm daily starting tomorrow, Thursday, January 18. They'll have over 90% of their terrain open on Friday. "The lack of snow and cold weather for snowmaking over the holiday period took its toll," said spokesperson Brian Lawson. "We'll be working the rest of the year to make up those losses. We can only hope the current weather pattern improves for the rest of the season." Crystal's mountain manager Michael Call said it's the worst winter he has seen in 30-some years, according to Lawson. Over this past weekend it looked more like a normal winter. Cold and snow has returned, and the parking lots and slopes were full of skiers and riders.
