Lift towers have just gone in for Beaver Creek's new eight-passenger Buckaroo Express Gondola. It's a short gondola ride designed for the resort's smallest guests. The ride time is just under four minutes, but kids (and grownups) can warm up and spend some time on beginner terrain. It will be especially helpful for those kids in children's ski and snowboard school. The Buckaroo replaces the Haymeadow lift, and can carry 1,655 people per hour. It should be ready for Beaver Creek's opening day Wednesday, Nov. 21. Beaver Creek has more family fun in store with a new disco ice skating party, storytelling and s'mores around the village's new outdoor fire pits. More family fun includes rail jams, tubing and figure skating, sleigh ride dinners and a teen video arcade.
