A multi-resort pass gives advanced skiers the chance to stretch their legs on a wide choice of terrain, while intermediates can take things at a slower pace, cherry-picking runs to suit their ability and lunching in a different resort each day.

We've put together a selection of seven-day multi-resort lift passes in North America and Europe.

Multi-resort ski passes:

France: The seven-day Mont Blanc Unlimited Pass costs €286 adults, €243 for children. It combines the resorts of Argentiere, Chamonix, Combloux, Cordon, Le Tour, Les Contamines, Les Houches, Passy Plaine Joux, and St. Gervais Mont-Blanc.

Austria: The seven-day Ski Arlberg Pass costs from €227 adults and €136 children. The pass is valid for all 84 cable cars and lifts of the villages: Lech, Oberlech, Zurs, St. Anton, St. Christoph, Stuben, and Klosterle/Sonnenkopf. Prices are dependent on when you ski and can go up to €239 adults, €143 children.

Italy: The Dolomiti Superski Pass costs from €205 adults and €143 children. This pass offers access to 12 ski resorts: Cortina d'Ampezzo, Kronplatz, Alta Badia, Val Gardena, Val di Fassa/Carezza, Arabba/Marmolada, Alta Pusteria, Obereggen/Val di Fiemme, San Martino di Castrozza, Valle Isarco, Trevalli, and Civetta. Prices are dependent on when you ski and can go up to €256 adults, €179 children.

Switzerland: The seven-day 4 Valleys' Pass costs CHF395 adults and CHF198 children (same rate throughout season). This pass offers access to the four resorts of Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, and Thyon.

US: The Epic Seven-Day Pass costs $499 per adult, $249 children and offers access to seven mountains: Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Heavenly, Northstar-at-Tahoe and Arapahoe Basin. There are no restrictions on dates.

Canada: Banff's Tri-Area Lift Ticket offers access to three resorts: Mt. Norquay, Lake Louise, and Sunshine Village. The ski area is launching its 2011-12 passes in the fall. Last season's seven-day tri-area pass was priced at $548.45 adults and $25.86 children (6-12 years).
