JMA Ventures, LLC, added Red Lodge outside Billings to their holdings for an undisclosed sum. The company also recently purchased Alpine Meadows and Homewood in Lake Tahoe, Calif. The resort opened in 1960 with one lift. Today it has seven lifts, snowmaking, and owns a golf course. "We're excited about the possibilities," said ski area manager Rob Ringer. "Things will change. But I think they'll change for the better." The ski hill that already has seen two storms deposit snow this fall plans to open Nov. 23. New owners do not plan to make any changes for this year. With prices already set, Red Lodge plans to honor all season passes and advertised daily ticket rates.
