Contracts Manager Brian Pearly said the bids to operate Blue Hills came from Ski Campgaw Management LLC, operators of Campgaw Mountain in Mahwah, N.J.; Blue View Recreation Center LLC of Milton, Mass.; and RM Blue Hills Inc. of Easton, Mass. Bids were solicited through ads and direct mailings. The bids were opened at 3 p.m. Sept. 11, the submission deadline. A committee will review the bids and make a recommendation within two weeks, and the commissioner of the Department of Conservation and Recreation will name the winner, Pearly said. The lease would be for five years, as is customary with most state leases. Pearly said the Massachusetts Legislature rejected a proposal from Gov. Deval Patrick to increase the term of the lease to 20 years, to encourage capital investment in the ski operation.
