Italy's Val Gardena already leads the world with no less than 25 quad chairlifts on its mountains, but that hasn't stopped them opening another two this winter – the new Sochers and Sotsaslong chairs are upgrades of drag lifts. There are 175km (110 miles) of runs to explore in the area, which is itself part of 510km (320 miles) of lift linked runs around the Sella Ronda – all on the Dolomiti Superski pass. In the Seiser Alm sector Val Gardena has upgraded the double chair from Paradiso to Goldknopf to a six seater. There's also a new ski run down from the Comici hut on Piz Sella to the Tramans Chair. The new slope is an easier alternative to the Piz Sella – Ciampinoi run.
