Ischgl is to host the most important rookie event of the season: the Protest World Rookie Finals April 6-9.
Top young talents from across the world will flock to the resort to enter this event classed as a TTR 4Star Slopestyle.
The Protest World Rookie Finals is reserved for top riders from previous rookie events who will battle it out for the title of "World Rookie Champion." Prizes are also up for grabs and include a photo and video shoot with Onboard Europe and the Pirate Movie Production, avalanche transceivers by Pieps, and a trip to Chile for a freeride film shooting.
Ischgl hosts its legendary end-of-season concert April 30. This year The Killers will headline, following in the footsteps of past acts such as Kyllie Minogue, Alicia Keys, Elton John, Katy Perry, and Rihanna. The Top of the Mountain concert kicks off at 1 p.m. at Idalp (2320m). The live event comes in the middle of the UK's bonus bank holiday weekend: the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is Friday, April 29, now a Bank Holiday, as is Monday May 2. So skiers and boarders can book a long weekend in Ischgl without having to take time off work.
