Okemo Mountain Resort is offering skiers and riders a good deal in return for a good deed.
TheOkemo Cares and Shares Food Drive is April 1. Skiers and riders who donate at least three nonperishable food items can get a lift ticket for $10. All donations go to the local food bank to help families in need.
Food donations will be accepted at the Clock Tower Base Area and at Jackson Gore Arches.
The Okemo Slush Cup is set for April 2 in the Main Base Area.
The point of this annual rite of spring is to see how far skiers and riders can skim across an 80-foot long manmade pond filled with icy water.
The contest is open to the first 125 people inspired to sign up.
Participants must be at least 4 feet tall, and at least 7 years old. Those between 4 and 5 feet tall must wear a life preserver, which Okemo will supply.
Entry fee is $20. Registration is 8 to 10 a.m. at the Real Estate Desk in the Main Base Lodge. The event starts at 11 a.m. Participants should bring their own towel, and change of clothes.
