Mt. Shasta Ski and Snowboard Park is looking for new passholders. Skiers and snowboarders purchasing season passes for the 2011-12 season can use them for the remainder of this season.

Shasta's early season pass sale is on now. Season passes for 2011-12 purchased during the spring sale cost $299 for adults, $249 for youth, $99 for seniors and juniors, and $39 for children 7 years old and younger. Family season passes are available for $1,199.

The sale rates run until July 31. Then prices increase by $40-200, depending on age groups.

Next year's season passes are valid for skiing and riding through the remainder of this year. Night skiing runs Thursday through Saturdays until March 26. The last day of Shasta's season is scheduled for April 17.

All of the 2011-12 season passes can be purchased online, except the family pass. Season passes can be also purchased in person at the resort, by mail, by fax, and by phone.

Spring events fill the calendar at Shasta before closing day. The third installment of the Revolution Series 2011 features a rail jam March 26. The event is open to skiers and snowboarders with entry costing $15. Its location off Challenge Run near the Marmot yields good spectating.

The season finale brings the Northern California Pond Skimming Championships to the resort April 16. Closing day April 17 has the annual ski, bike, run, and paddle race.
