One of the best snow seasons in recent history is winding down in the Wasatch Mountains, but there's still time left in the 2010-2011 season to take up snowboarding or get a few tips from the experts at Park City Mountain Resort.
The Utah resort takes aim at children age 5-6 who never have strapped on a snowboard but want to get a headstart on next season. The Junior Signature Snowboard program runs until April 3 to give youngsters some focused instruction. The cost is $200 for two sessions of small-class instruction, equipment rental, lunch and a lift ticket. Registration is at the Kids Signature check-in station near the ticket office. Classes begin at 9:30 a.m., and the program is restricted to first-time snowboarders.
Lady skiers and riders have until March 29 to pick up those final tools that will carry their skills through the summer and into the next winter season. The Ladies Club convenes Sunday through Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to noon at a cost of $45. The deal gets women a couple of hours with a female Park City Mountain instructor. Signup occurs at the Kids Signature 5 Korral at 9:50 a.m. Reservations are recommended by calling 800- 227-2754.
Park City Mountain officials have set April 10 as the final day that the lifts will run at the resort.
