The snow is deep and the sun is bright, even as the curtain is about to fall on another winter sports season in the Wasatch Mountains.

All Utah resorts finish up by the end of April, save Snowbird, but lodgers are still looking to attract some more customers before the lifts stop spinning.

Some of the latest skiing can be found up Little and Big Cottonwood canyons, where Solitude, Brighton, Alta and Snowbird hold their snow the longest of any Utah resorts.

Reducing costs is always an attraction to today's skiers and riders, so four hotels in the Sandy, Utah, area have put out the bargain sign until the end of the season. The Hampton Inn, at 10690 South Holiday Park Drive in Sandy, has rooms starting at $199 in their "ski getaway package." The Hilton Garden Inn, at 277 West Sego Lily Drive, has set aside rooms for its Alta-Snowbird special that begin at $219.

The Hyatt Summerfield Suites, located at 9685 South Monroe St., comes in with a nightly special rate from $249, and Marriott's Residence Inn at 270 West 10000 South begins its Ski and Stay package at $229.

All these facilities are within a half hour's drive of the four resorts.
