Spring at Sun Valley Resort brings live outdoor music at Warm Springs seven days a week. Music, lift ticket deals, and a lodging package add enticements for skiers and snowboarders to soak up sunshine on the southern Idaho slopes.

Warm Springs base area becomes the end of the year party place with live music outdoors daily in good weather. The resort alters its spring operations starting April 3 when Dollar Mountain closes down and the lifts running on Baldy trim down to seven. "The seven lifts still access 99 percent of the terrain," spokesperson Jack Sibbach assured OnTheSnow, adding that the ski season runs through April 24.

Consistent February and March snows set the resort up for a potentially strong spring. "Our goal is to keep both base areas-Warm Springs and River Run-open until the end," said Sibbach. "We might even be able to extend the Dollar Mountain season with more snow."

The resort is offering lift ticket deals for spring visitors. Value season rates go into effect March 28 with an adult one-day lift ticket costing $57. Discounts starting April 1 are given to season passholders from other resorts, and college students can get a special three-day pass. The Triple-Play Ski Pass costs $99 and is valid from now through April 24. The three days can be used sporadically, and the pass can be renewed.

Sun Valley is also finishing off its 75th season with a special spring ski package. The package, which includes one night lodging and one day of lift tickets, costs $72 per person, based on double occupancy and is available March 28-April 24.
