Minnesota's Mesabi Iron Range is a mother lode of craggy peaks, miles of endless forests, and home to Giants Ridge, the Gopher State's largest golf and ski resort, which is offering attractive season ending lift and lodging specials.
Midweek, Sunday through Thursday nights, two adults enjoy a night's stay in either the slopeside Lodge at Giants Ridge or the nearby Villas, including two lift tickets, for $139 per night.
The Lodge provides luxurious rustic lodging, with a knotty pine interior. Large lodge-pole pines support the high beamed lobby ceiling. Some of the rooms feature whirlpools and fireplaces. It includes a spa and fitness center with a large indoor pool and Timber's the lodge's fine dining restaurant.
The lift and lodging specials are good through March, which marks the end of the winter season. Follow the link below to book a reservation.
The Giants Ridge Spring Carnival, Slush Cup takes place next weekend, March 19-20. Events include the crowd pleasing Slush Cup and an Elvis-themed costume competition. There will be an outdoor barbeque on the deck and a dance contest. It's a chance for all you Elvis and Priscilla wannabes to strut your stuff.
The new tubing park is open on weekends all winter long. The cost is $15 per person for a two-hour session.
The Ridge offers 35 slopes and two terrain parks. Giants Job, an intermediate terrain park features several rails, boxes, foot kickers, a quarter pipe and half pipe. Mini Shred, a beginner terrain park, includes smaller features, rails and kickers. It will be closing at the end of the month.
