La Niña means nothing to the to the southern resorts of Colorado. Wolf Creek continues to enjoy an incredible winter boasting a 100+ inch base and a year-to-date snowfall total pushing 375 inches. Not bad for the biggest snow month of the season just beginning. Head to Wolf Creek for a specialty clinic, appreciation day, or fun race, and revel in the best of Colorado skiing.
Wolf Creek offers specialty clinics catered to skiers, snowboarders, and telemarkers. Women's clinics are designed to get women on the mountain, and encourage them to network and socialize with other women who enjoy skiing and snowboarding. Men's clinics are just the opposite giving men a chance for male bonding at its best. Senior clinics cater to active elders looking for a great workout with others their age.
Telemark clinics are geared to those interested in learning what the drop-knee culture is all about. A lift ticket and a two-hour morning telemark lesson is $58 for skiers of all abilities. For season pass holders, the lesson is $27. Rentals are available for $11.
College Appreciation Days roll on with discounts happening March 27, April 2, and 9. Lift tickets are $31 for students with a valid college photo ID. Similarly, Local Appreciation Day features $31 lift tickets for adults, and $18 for seniors and children with no ID required. Local days left include March 20, 30, April 3, and 10.
Two fun races left include the Spring Fling Race March 20, and the Final Fun Race March 27. Race your friends, or just challenge your own fastest time. Fun races are free and open to skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities. Sign up is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Raven's Nest building. Races run from 11 - 1 p.m. on Charisma run.
