Indianhead Mountain, the big chief of Michigan's UP ski resorts, has some fun events scheduled later this month. With all the snow - so far near 12 feet - they've gotten this season skiing and riding has been superb.

Pow Wow in the Pines Music Festival takes place March 18-19 along with the resort's infamous Bikini Race and fashion show. The two-day music festival will feature nine of the Heartland's best bands.

Two-day lift and lodging packages are available from $165 per person, based on double occupancy and include music passes. Passes for just the music are $20 per night or $35 for both nights. Bands include Snook, Ipdakar, Useful Jenkins, Ghosts of Swinetown, Dustin Thomas, I Like You, Tugg, Goulash, Jon Wayne &The Pain.

The Bikini Race, a popular spectator event, takes place at 1 p.m. Saturday on the Chippewa Headwall. These UP women are tough, and they will be going all out. Best time and crowd appeal prizes are handed out. It's a modified slalom course set up, and prizes include a season pass and a weekend lift and lodging package.

What more can you ask for? Hot bands and hot babes on the slopes, it's a pumped up weekend in Big Snow Country.

Saturday, March 26, the always popular Slush Cup takes place. This is also a crowd favorite, and you might even see a few bikini clad racers for this event as well.
