Bormio is a high alpine town at the centre of the Valtellina region. The town's origins are linked to its thermal waters which have been renowned for their curative powers since Roman times. Its rich history has left many architectural treasures which make the resort more interesting than many. Centered around the busy Via Roma, there are many old buildings, particularly of note is the 13th-century Kuerc and 15th-century Alberti Tower.
