Red River Ski Area launched this year's ski season with its burgers and brats pre-season party on Saturday, Nov. 17 in preparation for its traditional Thanksgiving opening Nov. 21. The resort has opened around Turkey Day for over 35 consecutive years. With machine-made snow, only the lower mountain will be open. Red River amped up its snowmaking this year with the largest equipment purchase in its 48-year history. The resort added two elevated tower guns, 20 electricity-free snow sticks, and 10 new portable fan guns—gear designed for energy and water efficiency. Ski area president Drew Judycki says, "Weather or not, we've got you covered."
