Mountain High plunked down $1 million over the off-season to improve the resort, with 40 percent of the outlay going to beefing up the snowmaking system. Mountain High modified existing machinery to increase efficiency (accounting for an energy savings of up to 800 kilowatts per hour) and installed a new water pump that increases the snowmaking capacity at the West Resort by 1,000 gallons per minute. Mountain High also added some new terrain features (a rainbow-shaped C-Box, a reversible quarter pipe, and a custom 30-foot-long Cronk rail). Other improvements include the conclusion of the two-year-long renovation of the West base lodge and a new tubing park.
