Les Angles, in the French Pyrenees, is offering a number of extra activities during the week of Feb. 28 to March 11.
Circus and street performers will take over the Mont Louis and Balcère avenues. During the same week, the resort will also organise tastings of local products at the Les Saveurs Catalanes shop, which specialises in regional treats.
On Thursday, March 3, performance tests and a freestyle contest at the snowpark will take palce. Potential participants just have to sign up for the events that morning. For a more playful experience, Les Angles hosts a sled race on Friday night. Competitors should come armed with a helmet and a break-equipped sled.
During the dates, the resort opens its lower pistes every night from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a free night skiing session.
While the activities are free, some require reservations with the Les Angles Tourism Office or the ESF ski school. These include the wine tastings Mondays at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28 and March 7; the performance tests Thursday at 9 a.m. March 3 and 10; the snowpark contest on the afternoon of March 3 (registration from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.), and the snowkite discovery day Monday, March 7 (registration Sunday at the the tourism office).
