Both Ski Apache and the Inn of the Mountain Gods come under the ownership of the Mescalero Apache tribe, paving the way for an indoor-outdoor package for skiers, snowboarders, and gamblers who can show up on a weekday.
Managements of the southern New Mexico businesses have coupled together a weekday special that puts visitors on the slopes and trails of Ski Apache by day, and in the casino, restaurants, and rooms of the inn by night. The offer runs from Sunday night to Friday, and includes two all-day lift tickets and transportation between the inn and the ski area.
Each day-night special costs $249 for double occupancy of a "superior room" at the Inn of the Mountain Gods, including either one king bed or two queen beds, wifi Internet, flat-screen TV, and other amenities. Lodgers also get breakfast for two each morning they stay. The offer is restricted to persons 21 or older and not valid weekends.
Ski Apache offers up more than 750 acres of skiing and snowboarding in the mountains of the Mescalero reservation, located high above Ruidoso, less than an hour's drive. The inn encompasses a 38,000-square-foot casino with slots, roulette, blackjack, and poker and hosts numerous country and rock musical performances throughout the winter.
