It doesn't take much to convince someone to eat at Deer Valley's Seafood Buffet in the base lodge at the Park City, Utah resort. The all-you-can-eat restaurant regularly welcomes overflow crowds to devour fresh fish, shellfish, sushi, and hot appetizers.

Popularity aside, the resort management has come up with a one-of-a-kind promotion that is bound to reel in customers who take sustainability seriously. one percent of the food revenues from the cash register will be donated to the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, Calif., every Tuesday.

Some may think it odd to support live fish by eating fish, but it makes sense to Deer Valley personnel. The aquarium is not only home to a dozen exhibits with eight classes of ocean species, the facility also maintains a Seafood Watch program that keeps track of where and how seafood is caught, among other information.

"Not only are we members of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, we use their excellent resources on an almost daily basis," said Julie Wilson, director of food and beverage at Deer Valley, in a press release. "The list lets us know what we should and should not be serving."

Deer Valley's Seafood Buffet is open 6 to 9 p.m. in the Snow Park Lodge Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
