Yosemite National Park in winter is a less crowded time to visit. Skiers and snowboarders can experience the winter beauty of the park on the slopes of Badger Pass Ski Area, California's oldest ski resort. Two lodging packages offer a way to sink into the experience.
DNC Parks and Resorts at Yosemite, operator of the ski area, offers two ski and stay packages. Recreation for the packages bundles in all-day lift tickets, rentals, group lessons, tubing, ice skating with skate rentals, and one Valley Floor Tour. Passes, which total up to a value of $148, are included for each person for each night. Rentals may be for skis, snowboards, or cross country skis.
The Stay N Play package adds in passes for each person for all the recreational activities for every overnight. The package is available Mondays through Fridays, with the exception of holidays.
The price of the package varies based on the lodging chosen. Options include staying inside the national park at The Ahwahnee, Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, Wawona Hotel, or Curry Village.
The Yosemite Winter All-Inclusive Package combines an overnight stay at Yosemite Lodge at the Falls with the recreation passes as well as three meals per day. Meals can be eaten in the Falls Food Court or the Badger Pass Grill during the ski day. Dinner vouchers can be used for discounts in The Awahnee Dining Room or the Mountain Room.
A three-night all inclusive package starts at $999 for two adults and two children. The package for two adults runs $133 per person per night Sundays through Thursdays and $191 per person per night on Fridays and Saturdays.
Both packages are available until March 31. Reservations can be made by phone or online.
