Sugar Bowl Resort has introduced several new programs for skiers and snowboarders. Two free lesson programs can improve techniques while clinics can give more intensive instruction.
Women's Wednesdays offer female skiers and snowboarders a free two-hour group lesson. Instruction is provided by women, and the lessons are for any women ages 13-69. The free lessons meet every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. at the Mt. Judah Mountain Sports Learning Center.
Freestyle Fridays are designed for those looking to improve park riding skills. Two-hour group lessons are offered free for ages 13-69. Three levels of freestyle lessons break participants into introductory, intermediate, and advanced groups. Techniques for basic straight airs, boxes and rails, grabs, nose presses, and butters are addressed in the lessons.
The introduction group will learn park fundamentals and progressions while the intermediate group will work on style and rotations. Advanced freestylers will focus on more technical maneuvers.
Sugar Bowl is also offering its Any Mountain, Any Turn, Any Time clinics. The clinics offer two- and three-day mountain adventures for intermediate to advanced skiers or snowboarders.
Three camps are schedule throughout the remainder of the season: Feb. 12-14, March 11-13, and April 16-18. Camps run $210-275. Lift tickets are additional.
