Kids ski free when accompanied by a paid adult, at least that's how it is at most resorts, but not Durango Mountain Resort.

Parents ski free when kids learn to ski at Durango, and overnight lodging rates start from $71 per person, per night, based on quad occupancy. There are some caveats, but it is a pretty sweet deal.  The program is available through February, and SheRide is setting up snowboard camp later this month at the resort.

Parents Ski Free is based on a three-night minimum stay and the purchase of a two-day Snowmonster Ski School package, which is $115 per day, per student for skiing lessons and $120 per day for snowboard.  The lodging is in the slopeside Purgatory Village Condo's and Hotel. Call the number listed below and ask for the Parent's Ski Free package.

SheRide Snowboard Camp, now in its ninth year, is coming to DMR Feb. 25-27, and it is all female coaches and women riders. The camp is for first-time and double-black riders and everything in between.  It's $680 - $575 for DMR season pass holders - and includes three days of instruction and riding, video analysis, coaching fees, lift tickets, a SheRide T-shirt and celebration dinner. For more information on the camp follow the link below. Past participants say it's not only excellent instruction, but a lot of fun as well.

Camp attendees also receive a 20-percent discount off resort lodging by calling the number below and mentioning code 15H681.
