Satski trail maps, an interactive GPS trail map, have just been introduced at four more ski North American resorts. Visitors to Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Lake Louise Ski Area, Panorama Mountain Resort, and Moonlight Basin can leave the paper trail maps in the racks in favor of using Satski apps.
Each map comes with resort information. Standard features for the app include point-to-point route finding, emergency features, live weather updates, real time data such as speed, vertical, and distance. It also has a buddy tracking system and Google Earth 3D replay.
The original Satski introduced in 2007 worked on only one platform-Windows. But now, the latest versions of the Satski app are available for five platforms, including Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, Nokia, and Windows. The app can work on 190 different devices.
The app will feature new capabilities soon. Statistics and data will be able to be shared on social websites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Satski trail maps now cover 318 resorts from 12 countries. The company has been growing its North American offerings. Among those are 42 U.S. ski resorts and 18 in Canada.
The addition of Moonlight Basin now offers skiers total coverage for Lone Mountain. Those with the daul mountain Biggest Skiing in America lift tickets or season passes can now track all of their runs at Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin.
