You want to get your little snow  bunny started skiing, but not sure about how young is too early?

Blue Mountain, Ontario Canada's largest ski resort, has some interesting programs for young skiers including tiny tots, which start from age two. If you're looking for a day of child care for your toddler or a ski program for a budding downhill enthusiast, the resort's Kids' Camp has programmed activities for youngsters to enjoy all day long.

Jenna Miller, who has returned to Kids at Blue for her fourth season as an instructor, offers some quick tips to help children get the most out of a lesson program.

"Prepare the child for his/her day by stressing the fun they will have, and plan on arriving about 30 minutes early for the lesson. It will help the child relax and get ready," she said. "Bring along extra socks, mitts, and additional layering pieces. It's a good idea to label all belongings, including skis and boots, with your child's name."

Goggles and helmets are recommended, but not mandatory. Helmets are available to rent for $10 CAN ($10.10 US) per day.

A 45-minute Tiny Tot skiing or snowboarding guided experience in the animated Kid Zone, is aimed at introducing skiing or snowboarding to the youngster through snow play. Skill development is individually geared to each little snow bunny. A lesson is $59 CAN ($59.60) and with rental is $69 CAN ($69.70).

A 60-minute private lesson is recommended for older youngsters, which includes lift-line privileges to maximize slope time. The lesson is $79 CA ($79.80) per youngster. Lift tickets and rentals are sold separately.

The Kids at Blue Centre is located in the South Base Lodge and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Space is limited, therefore all programs must be pre-booked and prepaid by calling the number listed below.
