Marmot Launches Freestyle Center

Marmot Basin introduced its freestyle center this season. Its three-hour introductory course - Terrain Park Skills — covers safety and etiquette, introduction to rails, boxes, straight airs, grabs, spins, switch riding, and all mountain freestyle. The $63.60 program targeting 12- to 18-year-olds is offered weekends and during school holidays. More advanced freestylers can join the Progression Session instead. Those interested in increasing jumping skills can take Jumps and Jibs with Giles. Adam Giles, a CASI Instructor and Freestyle Coach, teaches the Freestyle Triangle, switch riding, butters, introduction to jumps, ollies and nollies, shifties, spin progressions, introduction to rails, and rail progression. The five-week program costing $264.99 meets Feb. 3, 10, 24, Mar. 2, and Mar. 9. Youths meet in the morning for three hours and adults in the afternoon. Call 1-866-952-3816 to register.
