Beaver Creek Loves Kids, And Proves It with Event Of Same Name

Kids get the royal treatment at Beaver Creek Resort during a special event called Beaver Creek Loves Kids. It's two weeks of fun, Feb. 27-March 11. Kids can get complimentary lift tickets, ski and snowboard school lessons, some meals, and gear rentals. It's the first year for the event. "We wanted to provide a family festival that wouldn't dent the college fun, with on-snow and off-snow activities," according to Beaver Creek's Jen Brown. She says it's a good time to have a complimentary visit for a child, with a paying adult.

All of Beaver Creek's regularly scheduled family activities, such as snowshoeing, tubing, disco night, and the glowstick parades, will be happening. There will just be a lot more. "It's a celebration of kids. The kids call the shots," said Brown.

The other big event at that time is that Nature Valley NASTAR is hosting its Family Challenge, presented by Cuties California Clementines, March 5-6. Families can race as teams of two or three. Bigger families can race as two teams.

Another highlight is the Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats March 5 at the Vilar Performing Arts Center. Performances are at 4:30 and 8 p.m.

Families will need to book at least seven days in advance. Kids must be accompanied by one paying adult for similar purchases with a minimum of two nights of lodging.
