In addition to the latest and greatest in ski and snowboard hard and soft goods comes a week of parties, the Denver Big Air comp, and headliner music shows. Denver's SIA (Snowsports Industries of America) Trade Show marks trends and topics that tie us over until next January when it's trade show time yet again.

This year Colorado Ski Country Gems, Arapahoe Basin and Echo Mountain have teamed up with numerous other sponsors to bring one of hip-hop's most well-know artists to town. Big Boi, better known as Andre 3000's other half of OutKast, brings his cunning lyrics to the Ogden Theatre Friday, Jan. 28. Special guests include Eligh and Scarub from the Living Legends, and The Foodchain.

"We're really excited to be a part of this show," Leigh Ann Peterson, Marketing Manager at Echo Mountain, told OnTheSnow. "It's is going to bring underground and main-stream hip-hop together which is going to be really cool."

Big Boi released his first full-length solo album July 5, 2010. Since being on the shelves, 'Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty' has been nominated for a 2011 Grammy Award for the first single "Shutterbugg" for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.

The year's trade show highlights will include fashion and trend shows including 'Battle of the Brands', a Big Air competition in the heart of Denver's Civic Center Park, numerous headlining music concerts, Shmooza Palooza network and job fair, plus on-snow Nordic and Alpine demonstrations at Devil's Thumb Ranch and Winter Park Resort, respectively.

Denver is hosting the SIA Snow Show Trade Show at the Colorado Convention Center for the second year.  Las Vegas played host to the four-day event, before it moved to Colorado. The spectacle features over 450 exhibitors representing 800 plus brands spread throughout over 3,100 booths.

"This is our opportunity to bring awareness of our industry to a culture of people who make not be skiers or snowboarders," Peterson concluded. "It should be one of the highlight nights of the trade show."
