The annual Winter Wine & Ski Expo, a popular fundraiser for the Jimmie Heuga Center, takes place Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Atlantis Casino Resort in Reno. More than 40 vintners and brewers from around the West and Reno's top chefs will have samples to savor, and nearby mountain resorts, such as Squaw Valley and Sugar Bowl, and local sports shops will donate items to a silent auction. Tickets for the three-hour event (6-9 p.m.) are $55 in advance (775-824-4467 or online at heuga.org) or $60 at the door. All proceeds go to the Jimmie Heuga Center, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of people with multiple sclerosis.
