Sunday River Ski Resort in Newry, Maine, is teaming up with OutRyders, New England's premier gay and lesbian ski and snowboard club, for a White Out Weekend Feb. 10-13.
A press release from Sunday River lists weekend highlights as "drag races where skiers and riders can showcase their divine selves, après rendezvous get-togethers, an ‘80s dance party, and an Angels and Demons party with Provincetown DJ Maryalice at The Peak Lodge."
The weekend also offers 12-hour skiing and riding Friday and Saturday, Zipline Tours, and fireworks.
The Grand Summit Resort Hotel and the Jordan Grand Resort Hotel offer lodging packages starting at $149, that include slopeside lodging, lift tickets, daily adult ski or snowboard clinics, and daily breakfast. Both hotels offer full spas with sports massages and couples treatments, fitness centers, outdoor heated pools and hot tubs, and signature Boyne bed and linen packages for superior comfort.
Activities begin with a welcome rendezvous at 8 p.m. Thursday Feb. 10 in the Foggy Goggle in the South Ridge Base Lodge.
An ‘80s Dance Party begins at 3 p.m. Friday Feb. 11 in the Foggy Goggle.
Saturday's events include a Drag Race on the Tempest Trail, time to be announced, in which style rather than speed determines the outcome. An Angel and Demons Party begins at 9 p.m. in the Peak Lodge.
Sunday is for skiing and riding.
