A new oval-shaped luxury hotel, the five-star Hotel Stilli Park, is to be built in Davos.
Construction will begin this April and the project is to be completed by November 2013. The new hotel will cost CHF155 million and be under the management of the InterContinental Hotels Group.
"The new hotel will reinforce the position of Davos as the leading congress and tourism destination in the Alps," says Reto Branschi, CEO of Destination Davos Klosters."
The 40-metre-high hotel with its unique oval shape and metal external cladding will be very eye-catching. The structure will also be heated up to 90 percent by renewable energy and the building materials used will as far as possible originate from local and regional sources.
The Davos-Klosters ski area is amongst the biggest snow sport regions in the Alps, with its five mountains featuring 300 kilometres of slopes divided into 85 descents and served by 61 ski lifts.There is something for all winter sport enthusiasts: carver, freerider, snowboarders, and beginners. Freestylers can hit the halfpipes, fun parks, and off-piste powder.
