Ski resorts in the Maurienne region of the French Alps are catering to families this winter with various activities, discounts, and deals.

Saint-Francois Longchamp hosts the freestyle SFL Kid's Contest Feb. 12-18 for children aged 12-16. Kids can battle it out in the big air and boardercross events.

Valloire is offering free skiing for children up to 16 years, free ski gear for one paying adult per child, and one free cinema ticket per day if skiers book accommodation through Valloire Reservations.

A special family ski pass is available from Dec. 18 to April 23 in Valmeinier, where two adults and two children (under 18 years of age) can ski for €551.

Val Cenis-Vanoise is offering free accommodation on Easter Weekend. Visitors staying the week April 16-23 can benefit from two free nights' accommodation (April 23 and 24). They're also throwing in one free ski pass for those two extra days. Families (two adults, two children under 12) staying the nine days will pay from €192,50 per person.

Flanked between the Three Valleys and Tarentaiase, the ski resorts of the Maurienne are easily accessed from Turin Airport. Fast trains also stop at St. Jean de Maurienne.
