Denver celebrities, Bronco alumni, and the world's best disabled skiers will converge upon Winter Park, as the resort hosts the Wells Fargo Cup for the 36th year in a row. The big event is March 3-6, and athletes have already been getting time on the snow at Winter Park, competing recently in the Winter Park Open.
"The Wells Fargo Cup draws some of our largest crowds," according to Winter Park's Mistalynn Lee. "It's such a good cause and Coloradoans especially come out to support this event, which is free to watch."
You'll get to see how Bronco alums, NFL players, and other celebrities do in the gates. The highlight of the weekend is the World Disabled Invitational, where athletes compete on a head-to-head parallel course. "It's amazing to watch the teams compete. You're in awe of their ability, especially when they blow by you on the mountain," said Lee.
She also says this is the time to visit Winter Park, as the holiday crowds are gone. "It seems like we're always getting fresh snow, so now would be the time to get a run to yourself, especially at Mary Jane."
Winter Park is offering a deal where you book one night and get the second at half off. You must book by Feb. 15. Book in advance and you can also save on lift tickets, lessons, and rentals.
