[R602R, Val Thorens] has opened two new sledge runs reserved for the little ones, with a different area for each age group.
The tiniest tykes, aged 2 or more, will get their first dose of snowy laughs on the "Extra Fun" sledge slope. This run is located at the heart of the resort, near the place Caron. Parents can relax in the lounge chairs of the many nearby terraces and still supervise their children. The "Extra Fun" sledge area is free and reserved for children to guarantee their safety.
Older children, aged 6 to 10, will find more grown-up thrills on the "Piste aux Etoiles." This longer sledge run measures 250 metres in length. It also offers a vertical drop of 45 metres so that children can rush down the hill. Along the way to the bottom, sledgers will encounter a few banked turns to give them the adrenaline rush they want. This piste is also free and accessible by two magic carpet at Place Caron.
These two new sledge pistes are a welcome addition to the existing Toboggan run, which is for thrill seekers over the age of five. This run takes off from the Peclet glacier and measures six kilometres in length. It offers banked turns and variously angled pitches and is groomed every day to ensure optimal conditions. The ride lasts 45 minutes and costs €12 if you have a lift pass, €18 if you don't. Kids aged five to ten ride for free if they share a sledge with an adult.
The Toboggan is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with night sessions every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for €18.50 per person.
