The second edition of La Givrée, an open-to-all cross country ski race, will take place in Le Dévoluy Saturday, Jan. 23.

After last year's success, the southern alpine resort has decided to repeat the event, which offers five choices of trails, ranging from 1.5 to 25 kilometres. This way, skiers of all ages and levels can participate in the race.

Registration fees are €7 per person if you register in advance or €10 if you sign up the day of the event. Children under 12 can participate in the race for free.

Participants must provide a medical certificate that is no older than three months. If they are certified skiers, this requirement is waived.

Skiers interested in signing up should contact the Le Dévoluy tourism office at ledevoluy@wanadoo.fr or at +33 (0)492.589.191.

The first 200 people to register will receive a surprise gift. Of course, it is also possible to just come out and enjoy the festive atmosphere while cheering on the competitors in La Givrée.

The Nordic ski area of Le Devoluy offers 35 kilometres of trails divided into 15 pistes that are accessible for all levels. There are also 30 kilometres of pedestrian and snow-shoe trails, including the themed Clapucine trail.
