Crans Montana has created a new kids' activity area called "Snow Island."
Snow Island, located on the golf driving range, is open every day throughout winter from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Winter activities available here include snowtubing (CHF5/45 minutes), a sledge run, ski run, carpet lift and ski lift (CHF10 seven ascents, CHF15 day ticket), snow carousel, ESS Crans ski kindergarten, Bibi's house, return transport service between the sporting and driving range (CHF2 each way), an indoor and outdoor snack bar, and floodlit nighttime activities.
Next to Snow Island is a new building with 50 indoor seats and large sun terrace. Families can get to Snow Island via a snowmobile or drive to the convention centre and walk the last 200 metres following signs.
Each year Crans Montana is one of the first to kick off the winter season, this year it opened Nov. 21. Significant improvements were introduced this year, including a year-round golf course, 'Golf-Club-Crans-sur-Sierre', a five-star spa-hotel 'Gaurda Golf' with a 600-square-metre spa, and a new chairlift.
The new four-seated chair lift has been built for skiers accessing the Bellalui peak (2528m) - the second highest point in Crans Montana - and it replaces the two outdated drag lifts.
