Free Your Heel At Mammoth

Mammoth Mountaineering Supply, a humble mountain shop whose "No. 1 focus is to help you have fun," is conducting its 6th annual Telebration in and around Mammoth Mountain Jan. 10-13. The event kicks off with an avalanche awareness seminar at the Forest Service Visitors Center on Thursday at 6 p.m. and continues the following evening with films and a party at the Mammoth Village. You can try out the latest telemarking and randonee gear from K2, Karhu, Scarpa, Garmont and more at the demo center in the Stump Alley parking lot Saturday. The Telebration reaches its climax with an all-day back-country tour (experience and gear required) Sunday. The best part is that all the activities are free.
