Skiers and snowboarders heading to Bear Valley Mountain can get on the slopes for less by picking up lift tickets at off-site locations. Lift tickets now get you more goods as Bear Valley Mountain opened its new terrain over the holidays.
Bear Valley threw open its new 400 acres over the holidays. The resort christened it Dardanelles Vista, the winning entry from more than 1,600 submitted. The name refers to the view of the High Sierra.
The terrain consists of several black diamond runs that plunge from 8,495 Bear Top down to Bear Lake with a vertical descent of 1,200 feet. Lunch Run is the only intermediate groomed descent available. Runs spill onto Bear Valley Road, and a shuttle loops back to the base area.
Bear Valley partners with several off-site businesses on the east and west side of the Sierra to offer discounted lift tickets. Discounts can go up to $10 off the ticket window rate. The tickets can be used any day this season at the resort.
Discounted tickets are available at 16 REI stores in the region. Find them in Stockton, Brentwood, Fremont, San Pablo, Concord, San Jose, San Francisco, Monterey, San Carlos, Mountain View, Sacramento, Folsom, Santa Rosa, Corte Madera, Roseville, and Reno.
They are also available at Sport Chalet stores. Locations include Elk Grove, Pleasanton, Antioch, concord, San Jose, Sacramento, and Reno.
Several other independent ski and snowboard shops also carry discounted lift tickets for Bear Valley. Call the shops in advance to be sure the tickets are in stock.
