Seven Springs Mountain Resort in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania has committed considerable resources since 2004 to creating terrain parks for skiers and riders.
The resort has seven distinct areas set aside for terrain park features, with four open for the Christmas week holiday, and work progressing to open the rest as weather and conditions permit.
Seven Spring's parks offer a combined total of more than 50 features - the number varies with snow and the creativity of park staff.
The features include halfpipe and super pipe, both of which require enormous quantities of snow, for which Seven Springs is well-known nationally.
Parks include Arctic Blast Childrens Park with 11 terrain features, Foggy Bowl with seven terrain features, Santa's Beard Terrain Park with seven terrain features, and The Alley with 22 terrain features, all of which were open for Christmas week, as well as North Park Terrain Park, North Park Half Pipe, "The Spot" Terrain Park, and "The Spot" Super Pipe, under construction.
Seven Springs offers skiers and riders great variety of terrain served by an impressive lift system. Seven Springs presents 41 slopes and trails and six parks and pipes on 285 skiable acres, 750 foot vertical, with terrain gentle or daunting enough for skiers of any level, served by 15 lifts: two six-packs, three quads, five triples, three surface lifts and two conveyors. This is a complete, four-seasons resort, one of the largest and most popular in the region.
