It's one-stop shopping at the Beaver Mountain Snowsports School for skiers and ‘boarders who want to get serious about getting better.
A series of four weekend sessions run Jan. 8-9 through Jan. 29-30, and then again Feb. 19-20 through March 12-13, designed to intensify instruction for maximum improvement. Skiers and riders divide up into six levels, from beginner to expert, and spend some intensive time improving their skills with instruction specific to their abilities.
The only drawback is that you have to register at the resort's Logan office, at 1321 East 700 North, or at the snowsports school desk at Beaver Mountain. Registration closes at 5 p.m. on the Wednesday preceding any session.
The Mountain Adventure program takes skiers and ‘boarders of at least 5 and 7 years, respectively, and divides them into ability levels. Beaver Mountain instructors then spend two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon with each group.
The Extreme! class steps it up for skiers and riders who can handle all terrains, including trees, terrain park, moguls, powder and a race course. These sessions run only in the mornings. A two-weekend session runs Feb. 5-6 through Feb. 12-13.
New this year is the Teletribe program, which runs afternoon classes for groups. Freestyle lessons also are held only in the afternoons.
Prices are $140 for four weeks of all-day instruction, $75 for four weeks of half days or two weeks of full days, and $40 for two, half-day lessons.
