Beginners can get on the slopes at Mt. Shasta Board and Ski Park with two different deals. One offers a guarantee to master the beginner slope on the Marmot Chairlift while the other grants a free season pass upon completion.
Shasta's Guaranteed to Learn package combines two 90-minute group lessons, a rope tow ticket, and rentals for $70. The package guarantees that students will master the skills to progress to the Marmot Chairlift by the end of the second lesson in the day or you receive a voucher to return for free another day to finish learning the skills.
Lessons are available for skiing or snowboarding, but participants must be at least 10 years old for skiing and 11 years old for snowboarding. The two lessons are taught at 10 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. A free chairlift ticket upgrade for riding with an instructor is included for skiing or riding the beginner trails on Marmot.
Mt. Shasta's 1-2-3 Learn to Ski or Board package offers those who complete the program a free spring season pass. The package, which costs $180, includes three days of beginner lessons, rentals, and appropriate lift tickets for each day's skill levels.
The three lessons may be taken any day; however, those looking to receive the free season pass that is valid March 1 through the end of the season must complete the program by the end of February.
Both beginner programs are offered daily. No reservations are needed, but participants should plan to arrive at least one hour in advance.
